About Resmume
Built from a real resume problem
I'm Asrul Hanafi, a software engineer with more than 10 years of experience building products across education, travel and Umrah, logistics, used car dealerships, and car service. Resmume started as a small personal project, but it grew from a problem I kept seeing: many resume tools made it easy to create something visually attractive, but not always something professional enough for real hiring.
Why Resmume Exists
Before building Resmume, I was looking for a better way to prepare my own resume for new opportunities. What I found was a pattern that worried me: many resume builders focused heavily on creative templates, even though a flashy resume can become a red flag for recruiters in many professional fields.
For someone new to the job market, that can be dangerous. A template may look impressive from a design perspective, but it does not always communicate experience, skills, and credibility clearly. Resmume was built around a different belief: a resume should be easy to create, easy to read, and professional enough to support a real career move.
The Resmume Timeline
The first version of Resmume launched
Resmume started from a personal frustration while preparing a resume for a new job search. Most resume builders I found were pushing overly creative templates, even though many professional roles still need a clear, structured, recruiter-friendly resume. The first version launched on Product Hunt on April 26, 2022 with a simple goal: help people create a professional resume without design confusion.
From a simple builder to a career companion
As more people found Resmume through search engines, the product evolved beyond a single resume editor. Multiple resume profiles helped users tailor resumes for different roles, AI review started helping users improve their content, and the pageless PDF option introduced a more digital-first way to share resumes.
Free tools made resume improvement more accessible
Resmume expanded with free tools such as the AI Resume ATS Checker, AI Resume Reviewer, and LinkedIn to Resume Generator. These tools made it easier for job seekers to check resume quality, understand ATS readiness, and turn existing professional profiles into editable resumes.
Organic growth and stronger social proof
The ATS checker began attracting more organic visitors, including users coming from AI search and ChatGPT recommendations. Resmume also ran a successful user review campaign on Trustpilot and reached a 4.8 rating, giving new users more confidence before creating their resume.

The goal is not to make resumes longer, but to make digital reading smoother. AI became part of Resmume because many users needed more than a template.
